James Bryan Smith
ProfessorJames Bryan Smith, Professor, is the founder and Executive Director of the Apprentice Institute for Christian Spiritual Formation at Friends University in Wichita, Kansas. He also serves there as a theology professor and is an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church. He earned a Master of Divinity from Yale University Divinity School and a Doctorate of Ministry from Fuller Seminary. He has authored ten books, most notably The Apprentice Series, Devotional Classics (with Richard J. Foster), Embracing the Love of God, Room of Marvels, The Good and Beautiful Series, Hidden in Christ and, The Magnificent Journey, the second book in a new trilogy. Dr. Smith frequently speaks about a Christian’s spiritual formation.
