David Henderson, serves as senior pastor of Covenant Church, part of the EPC denomination. Before attending Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, where he received both his Masters of Divinity and his Doctor of Ministry degrees, David studied marketing and management at Miami University and then worked in Brand Management with Procter and Gamble. An atheist until his twenties, he became a follower of Christ during his senior year in college. David’s books include Tranquility: Cultivating a Quiet Soul in a Busy World and coauthored with Haddon Robinson Culture Shift: Communicating God's Truth to Our Changing World.

St. Bernard of Clairvaux, (c.1090 – 1153) was canonized January 18, 1174.  A Cistercian monk and mystic, founder and abbot of the Abbey of Clairvaux,  he was one of the most influential churchmen of his time.  Mediator and counselor for several civil and ecclesiastical councils and for theological debates during seven years of papal disunity,  he nevertheless found time to produce an extensive number of sermons on the Song of Solomon. His greatest literary endeavour,  Sermons on the Canticle of Canticles,  revealed his teaching,  often described as “sweet as honey,”  as in his later title doctor mellifluus.

G.D. Watson, Speaker, was born in Accomac County, Virginia. Watson attended the Biblical Institute at Concord, New Hampshire, studying Hebrew, Greek, and theology. He joined the Philadelphia Conference in 1868 and spent much of his life speaking on the holiness of God. Watson wrote numerous articles, pamphlets and devotionals which include Beauty For Ashes, How to Die to Selfishness, Alone With God and A Tender Heart.

A.W. Tozer served as pastor of his first church in 1919. That began 44 years of ministry associated with the Christian and Missionary Alliance (C&MA), a Protestant Evangelical denomination, 33 of them serving as a pastor in several different congregations. Later, and for thirty years (1928 to 1959), he was the pastor of Southside Alliance Church in Chicago; the final years of his life he spent as pastor of Avenue Road Church in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. In May 1950, Tozer was elected the editor of Alliance Weekly magazine (now Alliance Life). Two of his many books have become Christian classics, The Pursuit of God and The Knowledge of the Holy.
