Series: Orientation to Mission and Dependent Prayer
“After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them on ahead of him, two by two, into every town and place where he himself was about to go. And he said to them, The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”
Stuart McAlpine explores the relationship between Christian mission and prayer. In this resource designed for Fellows of the C.S. Lewis Institute, Stuart highlights lessons from Richard Lovelace’s book, Dynamics of Spiritual Life: An Evangelical Theology of Renewal. He explores the Bible’s teaching on prayer and mission and invites participants to exercise their spiritual authority in Christ, based on his atoning work, and to engage the world around them.
This series is presented as a single lecture (delivered in 2009) or as three separate shorter presentations.
