Randy Newman
Senior Fellow for Apologetics and Evangelism, CSLI
Randy Newman (1956-2024) was the Senior Fellow for Apologetics and Evangelism at the C.S. Lewis Institute. He taught at several evangelical seminaries. After serving for over 30 years with Campus Crusade for Christ, he established Connection Points, a ministry to help Christians engage people’s hearts the way Jesus did. He has written seven books, Questioning Evangelism, Corner Conversations, Bringing the Gospel Home, Engaging with Jewish People, Unlikely Converts: Improbable Stories of Faith and What They Teach Us About Evangelism, Mere Evangelism. and his most recent, Questioning Faith: Indirect Journeys of Belief through Terrains of Doubt. Randy has also written numerous articles about evangelism and other ways our lives intertwine with God’s creation. He earned his MDiv and PhD in Intercultural Studies from Trinity International University. Randy went home to be with the Lord in May 2024.

Jarred Kennedy, MDiv, ThM, serves as an editor for The Gospel Coalition. He is series editor for the TGC Hard Questions series and the author of Keeping Your Children’s Ministry on Mission, The Beginner’s Gospel Story Bible, and with Kevin Hippolyte and Trey Kullman, Faith Builder Catechism: Devotions to Level Up Your Family Discipleship. He is also co-founder and principal of Gospel-Centered Family, a ministry that helps churches and families share Jesus with the next generation.

Jess Archer is a free-lance writer and speaker. She is also the co-founder and writer of Refugee is Not My Name, a highly acclaimed art exhibit that celebrates Austin’s refugee community. Jess is the author of Finding Home with The Beatles, Bob Dylan and Billy Graham a memoir, detailing her struggle to find the meaning of “home”. Archer is also a member of the Writer’s League of Texas. Her creative writing has been on display at The Texas State Capitol building and the Austin City Limits Music Festival. Jess is a frequent contributor to various Austin magazines, including Tribeza.

Greg Koukl is a Christian apologist, radio talk show host, author, speaker and founder of the Christian apologetics organization Stand to Reason. Koukl received an M.A. in Philosophy of Religion and Ethics from Talbot School of Theology, and also an M.A. in Christian apologetics from Simon Greenleaf School of Law. He has authored or co-authored several books including The Story of Reality: How the World Began, How It Ends and Everything Important that Happens in Between and Tactics.

Heather Holleman is an associate teaching professor at Penn State, speaker, and author. Dr. Holleman attended the University of Virginia where she graduated with highest distinction for her thesis on the poetry of Emily Dickinson. She is the author of Seated with Christ: Living Freely in a Culture of Comparison, Sent: Living a Life That Invites Others to Jesus (cowritten with her husband) and The Six Conversations: Pathways to Connecting in an Age of Isolation and Incivility. Heather and her husband, Ashley, also work with a missions organization (Cru) where Ashley serves as the Executive Director of Graduate Student Ministry. Heather enjoys writing and speaks regularly to encourage audiences to connect deeply with Jesus and one another.

John Hopper serves as Executive Director for Reach, the evangelism training arm of Search Ministries, and regularly encourages and facilitates gatherings and conversations aimed at helping others think more deeply about God and life. John earned a B.A. in Economics at Trinity University, an M.Ed. at the University of Houston, an M.A. in Transformational Leadership at Bethel University, and a D.Min. at Biola University, where he focused on Christian apologetics and worldview studies. He is the author of Questioning God: Answers to Questions Worth Asking.

Elise Boros is a writer and campus ministry worker. She graduated from Penn State University and went on to serve alongside her late husband Greg in various campus ministry roles at both their alma mater and George Mason University, where she is currently on staff with Cru. Elise is also a prolific writer and has written many blog posts covering topics such as grief, suffering, and faith as they relate to her personal story of losing her husband to heart failure. Today she continues to devote her life to Jesus and to serve in college student ministry.

Ed Welch, PhD, is a faculty member and counselor at The Christian Counseling & Educational Foundation (CCEF), where he has served since 1981. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in counseling (neuropsychology) from the University of Utah and a Master of Divinity from Biblical Theological Seminary. Ed is a licensed psychologist and has been active in local church ministry for decades. He has written numerous books, including When People Are Big and God Is Small (P&R Publishing, 1997), Shame Interrupted (New Growth Press, 2012), Side by Side (Crossway, 2015), and Created to Draw Near (Crossway, 2020).

Kristi Mair

Research Fellow, Lecturer

Kristi Mair holds degrees in Philosophy and Theology, and Philosophy of Religion and Ethics. Kristi lectures in philosophy and epistemology at Oak Hill College, London, where she is Research and Pastoral Fellow. Kristi is passionate about evangelism and building up the church and continues to speak widely about responses to popular objections to the Christian faith. Kristi co-hosts a podcast with Andy Bannister (PEP Talk). She is the author of MORE>Truth (IVP, 2019) and most recently, edited and contributed to Healthy Faith and The Coronavirus Crisis (IVP, 2020).

Michael Kruger, is the President and the Samuel C. Patterson Professor of New Testament and Early Christianity at Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NC. His primary interest is on the Canon of the New Testament and how the Christian church understood which books belong in the Bible. He is ordained in the Presbyterian Church in America. He is the author of numerous books, most recently Christianity at the Crossroads:  How the Second Century Shaped the Future of the Church. He earned his MDiv from Westminster Seminary California and his PhD from University of Edinburgh.
