"Here is how you exercise Joni's leg," my longtime helper, Arlene, explained to the new girl she was training. I sighed and turned my head on the pillow -on one hand, grateful a new person was learning to get me up and dressed; on another hand, demoralized at inviting a near stranger into my bedroom and having to "expose" myself.
